Gender Stereotypes

I have been guilty of this and I am sure so have others. At some point in our lives, we have used the phrases “act like a man”, “isn’t feminine enough” or “that person is too feminine” when referring to a friend, family member or an acquaintance in regard to their gender.

Are we focusing on the wrong characteristics and partaking in our societies’ and cultures’ stereotypical identification? If we are too criticize someone, should it not be that the person was not humane enough…or respectful…kind..etc.?
